GV II

Stables and coachouse to Walford House (qv), now dwelling. Late C18 - early C19, altered early - mid C20. Red sandstone
random rubble, probably originally rendered, brick dressings, steeply pitched asbestos slate roof to coach house, slate
roof to stable wing. Plan: coach house block facing West, abutting Walford House, wall fronting stable set at right
angles facing South, stable range concealed behind. Coach house: 2 storeys, 4 C20 2-light windows below eaves, blind
arcade of 3 semi-circular headed arches with inserted openings 2 bays right, square headed plank door to left of
arcade. Abutting 2 storey wall fronting stable range, flat stone coping, first floor 2 blind window openings flanking
central semi-circular headed courtyard entrance, blocked ground floor openings, inserted C20 door left, C20
fenestration to stable range concealed behind. Primarily listed for group value with Walford House to the East.
