Roman Catholic Church. Begun 1856 by William Wilkinson Wardell; upper storey added
by 1863. Alterations 1880 by J F Bentley. Yellow brick, red dressings; slate
pitched roof to parapet, 2 storeys and basement. 7 bays to Wilfred Street. Round
arched windows paired to ground floor. Interior contains high altar of 1867 and
south altar of 1863, both by Bentley. Furnishings also by Bentley.
