House now 2 cottages. Mid C18 with later additions. Squared
rubble and hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated
stone slate roof. 2-unit gable-entrance plan originally of 2
storeys but with a workshop added as a second floor in late
C18. Quoins to ground and first floors. 3, 4 and 2-light
ground floor windows (with later windows inserted between)
and 3 (extended to 5) and 4-light first floor windows. All
have double-chamfered cavetto-moulded mullions. 10-light
recessed flat-faced stone mullion workshop window. Gables
have 2-light windows and lean-to extensions. Gable chimney
stacks. Bulletin of the Saddleworth Historical Society,
