TQ 95 NE THROWLEY BELMONT

4/155 Town Place

24.1.67 II

House. C15 and refaced early C19. Timber framed and clad with
painted brick on ground floor and rendered first floor. Plain
tiled roof. Two storeys and exposed bressummer and moulded box
eaves to hipped roof with stacks to left and right and to rear.
Four glazing bar sashes on first floor, 3 tripartite glazing bar
sashes on ground floor with door of 6 panels to centre right,
the top 2 glazed, 1 with flat hood on brackets. Originally a
manor house, possibly built temp. Henry VI (see Hasted, VI, 446).
