One hotel though built in contrasting styles. No 51 is circa 1860. 3 storeys
stuccoed. Slate mansard roof with 2 dormers. Moulded eaves cornice. 4 sashes
set in Italianate architraves. French windows on 1st floor. Stringcourses.
Ground floor has bar front with pilasters. No 55 is early C19, 3 storeys painted
brick. 1 sash - that on the 1st floor being restored. Left side doorcase with
pilasters and entablature. No 55 is mid C19. 3 storeys stuccoed. Hipped roof,
partly tiled, partly slated, having 1 hipped dormer with bargeboards. Bracket
cornice. 2 sashes with verticals only to 2nd floor. 3-light bay to 1st floor.
Tile ground floor has a rather fine shopfront with entablature and 4 plain pilasters
2 doors and a window each with elliptical heads. Included for group value.
Nos 49 to 55 (odd) form a group.
