GV II

Cottage, formerly for level-crossing keeper. Circa 1855. Random dressed stone
with ashlar dressings and quoins. Plain and fish scaled tiled roofs with tall
stone and brick stacks with projecting breasts to right and at rear. Gables with
parapet and kneelers and ridge-cresting. L-shaped in plan with gabled projection
to right of front. 1 1/2 storeys; 2-bay front with 1-window ground floor, and
1 window on 1st floor under gable to right. 2-light mullioned windows with
hexagonal lozenge lattice iron casements, 2 replaced by plain glazing at time of
resurvey. Entrance to right under gable; boarded door in arched surround with
gabled and barge boarded hood on brackets over. 1-storey extension to left,
probably not original but in similar materials and style.
