Description

SD 45 NE ELLEL CHURCH LANE

8/107 Stile north of entrance to
- Graveyard

GV II

Stile carrying footpath over graveyard wall, possibly c.1800. Sandstone, with
rubble base. 3 steps on both north and south sides, with flagstone top. A
vertical flagstone forms the division between the two halves of the stile: on
the east side of the wall the ground level is higher and there are simpler
sandstone steps. The graveyard is the site of an earlier church, built
c.1800, replaced in 1907 and demolished in 1936.
