Mid C18. Red brick. Two two-storey houses in one building. Three windows, outside shutters to ground floor, segmental brick arches, sashes with glazing bars in exposed casing. Two similar rectangular wood doorcases, inset six-panel doors, and traceried fanlights. Slate roof with gable ends. Moulded wood eaves cornice. Adjoins No 7.

All the listed buildings in Castle Street, Castle View and Castle Yard together with Skeffington House, the Iron Gates, Chantry House and Newarke Wall all in The Newarke form a group.
