Originally a timber framed barn of C16C17 origin but largely rebuilt and
encased in brick with the addition of a cottage to the south gable end,
C1800. The barn proper is of 2 full storeys, 5 bays long and with outshuts
to both sides with 2 midstrey gabled portals on the east side. The outshuts
and part of the barn itself is floored. The west wall retaining a wall
post imbedded in the brickwork. The trusses are of queen post form with
heavy back purlins but the southern truss against the brick gable has
cruck principals rising from the tie beam and a collar. Tiled roof. The
cottage at the south end is of one storey and attic with a dilapidated
gable end tiled roof. Segmental arched casement windows and doorway and
a gabled half dormer.
