2/24 Poplar Villa

GV II

House. Circa 1700. Red brick end walls, but plastered front and
rear walls originally timberframed. Steep old red tile roof
extending down over original outshot at rear. A symmetrical 2-
storeys and attic house facing S. 2-room end chimneys plan with
winding stair formerly in SW corner of house. Fine brickwork in
gable walls of Flemish-bond with random blue headers, chamfered
plinth, raised bands at 1st floor and eaves height, brick-on-edge
cable parapet with corbelled kneelers, chimney risinq a little to
rear of apex, small square attic window, and at W a central small
recess for a plaque. Chamfered axial beam with ogee stops. 3-
window front with gabled porch.
