House. C17 or earlier, restored and extended in early C20. Timber frame
exposed on upper floor at front with plastered infill panels, roughcast
elsewhere but tilehung S gable. Old red tile roof. A 2-storeys, 3
windows long house facing E with tall external N gable chimney now
roughcast, and large rear-wall chimney to S part. Single-storey tiled
extension to S end. Single-storey half-hipped tiled rear wing at NW and
frilly conservatory attached at W end of extension. Unusually lofty 1st
floor - probably due to heightening of front wallhead. Tall 2-light
metal casements with small panes. E front was probably jettied and then
underbuilt. Small convex curved tension braces to corners and
wide-spaced timbers. Jowled posts. Squint-butted scarf joint in
bressumer.
