6/57 Barn approximately 35 m
north-east of Lower
Ponthendre

GV II

Barn. Late C17 or early C18. Sandstone rubble with some timber-framing,
corrugated metal roof and cladding. Four bays aligned east/west with later
added bay to west end, threshing floor to east of centre, south front:
square-headed doorway to later addition to left. Interior reveals fragmentary
square panelled framing, inclined strut trusses with slightly bent principals.
The barn forms a group with the Barn (qv) approximately 25 m east of Lower
Ponthendre and the cow shed (qv) approximately 20 m north-east of Lower Ponthendre.
Although forming part of this group it belongs to Middle Ponthendre (qv). Lower
Ponthendre Farmhouse is altered and is not included in this list.
