10/27 Unidentified monument in the
churchyard, about 2m north of the
east end of the nave, Church of
St. Margaret

GV II

Chest tomb: second half C18. Stone. Flat lid, moulded edge;
north side oval surround with sprays of leaves: south
fielded panel, scalloped corners with leaves: moulded edge to
panel and frame. Ends gadrooned pilasters, oval with swelling
centre to stem at east end, 3 cherubs' heads on west stem. All on
wider stone base, rectangular edge. Inscription originally on
north face and lid, no longer legible. Heavily overgrown at time
of survey (August 1985).
