(South Side)
Highgate

2.
Mid C19 house with Tudor trimmings. Central block of 2 storeys, 2 windows has
fairly low pitched nipped slate roof with eaves soffit and seems to be earlier
than the side wings of 1 storey and basement, 2 windows. These have higher pitched
slated roofs and tall diagonal brick chimneys , stuccoed walls. Cross casement
windows in raised stucco surrounds. Brick quoins to gabled projection in left
wing. Central half glazed 4 panel, door in loggia partly formed from early C19
sash windows with glazing bars. At 1st floor centre a niche with 4 centred head
and hoodmould holds a portrait bust. Curiosity value.
