Probably late C18. Square Portland stone milestone set diagonally to the road with triangular top.

The top is inscribed: "ROYAL EXCHANGE 17 MILES/WHITEHALL 15ΒΌ MILES/HYDE PARK 14 MILES/PARISH OF CHESSINGTON".
The south east face is inscribed: "TO SURBITON/3 MILES/KINGSTON/4 MILES".
The north east face is inscribed: "TO LEATHERHEAD/4 MILES/DORKING/9 MILES".

The lettering is in plain capitals without serifs.
