Probably early C16 building with C18 and C19 Tudor front. Two storeys, three windows. The left bays have slightly projecting gables with Victorian bargeboards. High pitched roof renewed in machine tiles. Front pebbledashed and painted but showing C18 brick dentil cornice in right bay. First floor casements under hoodmoulds. Modern shops on ground floor. Exposed timbers inside. Part of roof shows side purlins; with wind braces but not all can be seen.

The Red Lion Public House, 369 Royal Lane and the The Red Lion Hotel form a group.
