Bliss Hall Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably C17 with later alterations. Timber-frame and sandstone
rubble. Tiled roofs with sandstone rubble and brick stacks. Rectangular
plan of about five bays aligned roughly east/west. One storey and attic.
South elevation has three windows, gabled dormers with 2-light casements.
Ground floor has 2- and 3-light late C18 to early C19 casements. Entry is
roughly central and attached to right under continuous roof is a granary
with tallet stairs. Exposed framing. Rear elevation has sandstone rubble
extension under lean-to roof. Interior (access refused) noted as having
heavy ceiling beams. (RCHM, Vol III, p 187).
