II

Monument. Inscribed IN MEMORY OF THOMAS DAVIDSON GAME WATCHER, WHO WAS MURDERED
ON THIS SPOT ON THE 8TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1848, followed by religious text and
ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION, 1852. Calciferous sandstone. Rusticated
plinth, square shaft with pyramidal cap. Game keeper was strangled by poachers.
