Throstle Nest Cottages and
railings
II

Terrace of five cottages. Late C18. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone
dressings. Slate roof with one brick gable end stack and four brick ridge stacks.
Two storeys. West elevation, identical for each cottage. From left to right; a
3-light square section mullion window with four paned casements and fixed lights.
Similar window above. To the right a doorway with stone lintel and jambs.
Contemporary plank door with raised moulding around the edge and horizontal lower
panel. Latch type handle and central knocker. This elevation is repeated four
times to make up the terrace. In front of the terrace late C18 or early C19 railings,
eight posts linked by two tiers of chains.
