ST 89 NE AVENING -

3/2 Stable block at Avening Court,
adjacent to east end of house

Earliest part of stables, immediately to east of house. Mid C18.
Coursed and dressed rubble stone with Cotswold stone slate roof to
front (west), rubble stone and tile roof to rear, small lateral
stone stack. 2-storey with central small pediment. 2 large
flattened arch carriage entrances left and centre, with small
lunette in centre below pediment. To right, originally single door
with lunette window with intersecting tracery over, now widened for
garage entrance. Iron weathercock on roof. Range immediately to
rear not of special interest.
