SO 83 SE FORTHAMPTON FORTHAMPTON VILLAGE

2/65 Wood Cottage

Detached estate cottage. Mid C19 and late C19-early C20. Red
brick and square-panelled timber-framing, red tile roof with bands
of fish scale tiling, brick stack. L-shaped main body with
projecting porch. Contemporary outbuilding on left gable-end.
Timber-framed lean-tos at rear of main body. Single storey and
attic, lit by two 2-light full dormers. Symmetrical facade; two
3-light casements with limestone hoodmoulds to ground floor. All
windows with diamond leaded panes. Central porch with basket-
headed entrance, plank door within. Single-storey outbuilding
left, with part weather-boarded front, containing 2-light casement
with glazing bars. Sawtooth brickwork at eaves. Square central
stack.
