GV II

Vicarage. Late C19. Limestone plinth, hard bright red brick ground floor,
timber-framed upper floor and gables, fish-scale tiles to roof, two large
modelled brick stacks. An L-plan villa in C19 Tudor style, but carried
out in brick and timber rather than the stone usual for this area, decora-
tive barge boards. 1½ storeys, 1-windowed gable to road with jetty, 2-
windowed return, and 1-windowed gable to return wing with jetty, right.
Various casements, 1:5:1 oriel to street gable and small 1:2:1 oriel on
return, tiled hipped roofs, 3-light gabled dormers on coved bases and with
decorative barges. In internal angle plane door in timber - checked gabled
porch. All windows with leading in combined octagons and square. A very
convincing and externally unchanged example of the genre.
