Inn, Mainly late C19 but some C17 work. Rendering,C19 timber framework,
stone slate roof with brick stacks, rich coursed cappings. Two storeys,
at left a C17 cross-mullioned light over C19 3-light transomed casement,
then 3-windowed, 3-light transomed casements at first floor, the first
one under a gable, over a 10-light bay with stone slate lean-to roof
incorporating door, central to this part of building, and 5-light bay,
under 3-light oriel. Return wing right, steps steeply down Castle Street
and includes 3-storeys limestone ashlar wing. Included primarily for
Group Value.
