4/15 Guy's Manor Cottage

GV II


Detached house, at one time divided into two. C17. Square-
panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill. Left gable end
of main body and left-hand return of extension rendered. Red tile
roof, brick stacks. Rectangular plan to main body, possibly built
in 2 stages. Later C17 extension breaks forwards on right to form
an 'L,'-shaped plan. C20 porch at rear, not of special interest.
Single light, 2 and 3-light casements. Three-light dormer from
eaves. Most casements with leaded panes. Later C17 timber-framed
extension projects forwards to right. Half-hipped roof to
extension. Off-the-ridge chimney to main body. Stack from half-
hipped section of roof.
Interior; two open fireplaces with bressumers. Intersecting tie
beams with deep flat chamfers and moulded stops.
