SU 63 SW ROPLEY CHURCH STREET

GV II

House. Early C18, with C2O rear extension (making a triple pile) and alterations.
Walls of brindle brickwork in Flemish bond, with flush red dressings; quoins ,
rubbed flat arches, 1st floor band, deep plinth: a former doorway (beneath a
narrow blocked window) having been filled and a later doorway formed at the east
side. Hipped tile roof, moulded wood eaves cornice. North front; regular
of 2 storeys, 4 windows. C20 mullion and transom windows. C18 6 panelled
(2 top glazed) door, with C20 pilasters, beneath a wide canopy, giving access
to a raised platform, approached by side steps. The rear has had C20 wings
added, tile-hung in the upper part.
