3/16 Western Court Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C16 core, rebuilt C18, C19 alterations. Timber-frame core, brick and
old plain tile roof. 3 bay C16 building with service bay on lower level to right
of screens passage, and to left rebuilt C18 as 2 bay side to 3 bay block, with
higher hipped roof, also right bay refronted and outshot added to rear, 4 bay, 2
storey front with right old bay on lower level. In 2nd bay from right C20 brick
gabled porch, with C18 door behind to screens passage. To right C20 4-light casement
and on 1st floor 2 C18 3-light casements. To left, left bay has windows at higher
level than that next to it. In these bays on ground floor C18 12-pane sash and on
1st floor C18 9-pane sash, with gauged brick arches. Roof of right bays steep pitched
with gable end stack and to left higher ridge and eaves of C18 hipped roof with
central ridge stack.
