1/15 Walls and gateway and piers
50 m W of Lainston
House

II

Walls with gateway in centre. C18 and early C20. Brick with Portland
stone copings. Walls start from ends of brick loggias running 25 m W before
turning a right angle to complete courtyard. Walls 1 m high with piers at
3 m and stone coping. End wall 15 m long each side of gateway with ha-ha
in front so stepped foundations of walls visible. In centre early C20 gate-
way of large rusticated round piers with stone copings and finials and wrought
iron gates. In front of each a low quadrant wall.
