Almshouses. Described at "built about twenty years ago" in 1879 (Whites) with
substantial late C20 conversion. Dressed Heavitree brecchia; slate roof; axial and
end stacks with brick shafts.
Single depth plan with a central passageway and 2 2-room plan houses to either side.
The C20 conversion has involved blocking the front doorways to either side of the
central passageway.
2 storeys. Symmetrical 4 window front with 4 gables to the front. Central doorway
to passage in centre, blocked doorways to left and right. 4 first floor 2-light C20
casements with diamond leaded panes, similar 3-light ground floor windows.
The Almshouses are a prominent feature in the centre of Exminster.
