Large house in landscaped grounds overlooking the sea. Circa 1840 Italinate style
with circa 1890 additions. Ashlar with low pitched slate roof. Moulded stone eaves
cornice and panelled frieze and band at first floor level. Two storeys. South
front, overlooking terrace and sea beyond, five bays. To left of centre a low three
storey tower with bracketed eaves cornice, three light round headed window and stone
balcony on brackets above a large ground floor splayed bay. To left a loggia with
elliptical arch flanked by small round arches on composite columns, with recessed
balcony above with segmental vaulted ceiling. The right hand three bays, two of
which project is said to be late C19 addition. West elevation of four bays has
pediment to right over round-headed window with fluted tympanum and large splayed
bay window below. North entrance front has large square porch with pilasters and
round-headed doorway.
