5/1 Buddings Cottage

House. C17, altered late C19. Timber-framed with brick infill, brick
refacing to south front, weatherboarding to west gable end, sandstone plinth
and external stack, tiled roof. Three framed bays aligned east/west facing
south, lean-to additions to north and west, central entrance, large external
stack with shaft missing to west gable end, partly enclosed by lean-to,
further C19 lateral stack to north. Two storeys; south front, three windows
with rounded brick surrounds and segmental heads, single casement window
flanked by 2-light casement windows to first floor, similar 3-light windows
flank central doorway with similar segmental head and rounded brick surround,
ledged door. Framing revealed to rear (north) largely complete, three square
panels from sill to wall-plate.
