GV II -

Barn and cow shelter. Probably late C18 with early C19 cow shelter extension.
Timber-frame with weatherboarding and tiled roof; pantiled roof to cow shelter.
Six-bay barn aligned roughly north/south with five-bay cow shelter attached to
north end. East elevation: full-height opposed cart entries in third bay from
right, early C19 gabled weatherboarded two-storey projection to right of cart
entry; lean-to addition to left of entry. Interior: barn has pegged triple
angle strut trusses and wall-frames two panels high designed for weatherboarding;
cow shelter has four oak posts supporting open east side and pegged raking strut
trusses. Forms part if the farmyard complex at Hellens (qv) together with
barn (qv), cider house (qv), stables (qv), stable block (qv) and wainhouse (qv).
