6/149 Nelme monument in churchyard, about
6m south of tower, Church of
St. Michael and All Angels

GV II

Pedestal tomb: probably about 1811; stone. square in plan.
Small, pyramidal top above cavetto moulding to lid, with moulded
edge. Leaf frieze below: plain panel on each face with elongated
quarter square balusters at corners, above a cavetto top to plinth.
To John Nelme, died 1811, one inscription records death in 1777,
various C19 ones, latest 1904. Lettering all in capitals.
