8m south of east side of Porch,
Church of St. Michael and All Angels


GV II

Chest tomb; mid to late C18; stone. Flat lid with moulded edge,
above fluted frieze. Sides have rectangular, fielded panel in
centre, either side a quarter rectangular gadrooned baluster, with
fluted stem and egg-and-dart moulding to top of capital. The
whole on a cyma base, set on larger flat, stone paving. Ends
compressed version of sides. To Joseph Lloyd of Gunsmills, died
1761, four other inscriptions in C18, one 1842. Lettering well
cut. J. Lloyd was owner of paper mill at Guns Mills, Little Dean,
(q.v.). Close to pedestal tomb to same family, (q.v.).
