C18/C19 remodelled in mid C19. Long single storey timberframed stable with
old red tile roof, weatherboarded on rear (N). Queen post roof structure.
Yellow stock brick front to S with segmental headed barred windows set back
in 7 bay round arched arcade. Door in central arch. E end half hipped and
2 low storeys domestic accommodation with internal chimney and on E
elevation a door and 2 casement windows. When the farm was sold in 1894,
it had accommodation for 100 Shire horses and the owner kept Hackneys as
well (WEA I (1966) 44). The stable represents the boom time of C19
farming. Listed for group value.
