9/19 Bridge over River Quin

GV II

Foot bridge. '1861' in raised lettering. Cast iron on brick
abbutments, with wooden plank deck. A narrow footbridge of about
7m span with openwork lattice girder parapets each of a single
casting. Deeper bottom flange on each side has raised letterd
inscription: '1861 BARWELL & CO EAGLE FOUNDARY NORTHAMPTON 1861'.
Each girder supported at each end by large quadrant openwork cast
iron bracket with circle in spandrel, bolted to underside of
bottom flange. Spacer bars at intervals also support the deck of
longitudial planks. Square panelled cast iron post with moulded
finial at each end of each girder with 2-bar abuttments, railing
jointed to outer face and carried on moulded cast iron posts.
