Interesting thatched group, probably C17 structure. The Hermitage has two 2 storey
wings meeting at an acute angle. Early C19 leaded gothic casements, rustic verandah,
dormers and half-dormers. No 22, adjoining, has brick and cob gabled front to
road with C18 sash windows, and gabled hood on brackets to door. Hermitage Cottages,
behind, have mostly cob walls and recent wood casements. Nos 1 and 2 have early
panelled doors.
The Hermitage, No 22 and Nos 1 to 6 (consec) (Hermitage Cottages) form a group.
