Annery Kiln Cottages, Nos; 1-5 (consecutive)

Cottage row. Early C19. Colourwashed render over coursed slatestone rubble; hipped slate roof; brick ridge and end stacks. Each cottage is one unit plan with service outshut to rear. Three storeys; eight window range. Flat rendered arched over C19 plank door to left and three C20 doors; sixteen-pane sashes, except two C20 windows to centre; second floor has twelve-pane sash to left and two-light casements with glazing bars. Left side wall has three sixteen-pane sashes, horned on ground floor. Rear outshut has C19 plank door to left, C20 doors, and C19 two to three light casements with glazing bars.

Interior not inspected.

Probably built to accommodate workers at Lord Rolle's Annery Kiln and other kilns along the Torridge. Included for group value.
