Pair of cottages. Late C17, extended in the C18 with later alterations. Roughcast
cob and random rubble; half-hipped thatched roof. The cottage on the left is the
older of the 2, a 2-room plan, the right-hand room heated by an end stack, the
latter became axial when the building was extended in the C18 by 2 rooms forming a
separate dwelling. 2 storeys.
Exterior: front: irregular fenestration, three 1st floor windows with late C18 or
early C19 2- and 3-light casements; 4 late C19 casement windows to ground floor. 2
glazed doors, C20. Late leantos. Axial stack with brick shafts serves both
cottages.
Interior: left-hand cottage; principal room with chamfered and unstopped cross
ceiling beam; large straight roof truss principals. Right-hand cottage with more
slender scantling in roof.
