5/61 Rowlandson Ground

II

House. Court cupboard dated "IRE 1690". Painted stone rubble with roughcast
front and slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays, the end 2 bays of one storey, due to
slope of ground, and recessed with curved timber brackets supporting wide eaves,
small much altered bay to left return. Windows have casements with iron opening
lights; 3rd bay has 5-light wood-mullioned window with 2-light fire window to
right, narrow mullions and transoms. 4th bay has casement next to glazed door
under large timber lintel. Entrance to 2nd bay with gabled glazed porch. End
bay has garage doors. Cross-axial stack with round shaft and gable end stacks,
that to right return projects, flanking 3-light windows. Rear has stair wing
under cat slide roof with lean-to outshut to right. Varied fenestration.
2-light chamfered wood mullion window and similar 3-light stair window; end bay
has 1st floor sashed window with glazing bars. Interior has beams, cupboard and
winding stair.
