Farmbuilding, now house. Mid C19, converted c1980. Red brick with blue brick
dressings, hipped slate roof. Octagonal in plan, two storeys, single bay. Round
arched openings with C20 glazed screens incorporating either doors or windows on
each alternate face to both floors, all with flush blue brick hoodmoulds. Similar
first floor and eaves bands of two courses of blue brick with vertical blue bricks
at regular intervals between. West face has C20 iron steps and balcony to first
floor door, north face has original iron platform on decorative iron brackets to
first floor opening. Part of the home farm to Riddings House (qv) the house of
local industrialist, Oakes.
