Early C18 facade with later alterations. Roughcast. Coping broken by 2 small
gables with fretted barge boards, dentilled plaster cornice below. Old tiled
roof. 2 storeys and attics, 2 unbarred windows with moulded dripstones and louvred
shutters. Moulded wood doorcase with pediment on consoles. Steps and railings.
Originally part of same building as Nos 53-57 (odd).

Nos 43 to 61 (odd), and the Old Grammar School and the pavement at the front
of the Old Grammar School form a group of the greatest importance.
