12.7.67 Barn at Harthill Hall Farm

Barn. C16,much restored and added to in C19, also altered in C20. Coursed limestone
and gritstone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins and stone slate roofs. Two
storeys, three bays with later, lower additions to east. North elevation has wide,
chamfered four-centred arched doorcase with plank door and to either side, narrow,
single light, chamfered windows with four-centred arched tops. To west, similar
window with segmental top and beyond, similar 4-centred arched doorcase under flight
of steps,with similar doorcase beyond. Above, chamfered doorcase,with plank door to
top of steps and chamfered hayloft opening and 2-light chamfered mullion window to
east. Attached to east, lower C19 addition with segmental arch to east gable wall
and C20 haybarn attached to north.
