ST 82 SW EAST STOUR BACK STREET

3/10 Orchard House and
the Homestead

- II

2 houses, one dated 1600, other probably late Cl8 or early Cl9.
Coursed rubble walls with tiled, thatched and pantiled gable ended
roofs. Brick stacks right and to projecting front gabled wing.
2 storeys and 1½ storeys, irregular fenestration. C2O casements,
some having full glazing bars and some horizontal glazing bars.
Wooden lintels. C20 doors. Internal features (RCHM): fireplaces
with stone jambs and chamfered timber bressummers; 2 stop chamfered
ceiling beams.
