No 9. Cl7 core, refronted probably C18 or early Cl9. 2 storeys. Slate gabled
roof. Colourwashed roughcast cladding. Bowed window with glazing bars to right
hand on ground floor with splayed bay above it. Doorway to left hand with panelled
pilasters and flat hood; door in reveals; rectangular fanlight with Gothic glazing;
6 fielded panelled door with top 2 panels glazed.
Nos l0 & 10A: C18 or earlier. 2-storeys. Slate roof with cresting. Colourwashed
rendered front; parapet with plain capping. Premises occupied by Number Ten
has modern shop front; 3-light wood casement with small panes above it. Premises
occupied by Roper and Roper has on ground floor at left hand end, wide doorway
with moulded archivolt and flat hood over; 6-panelled door with upper 4 panels
glazed. To right hand beyond this, 4-light, 2 tier window, with a 3-light sash
above it. To right hand again, doorway with moulded archivolt and flat hood,
4 panelled door in reveals; to right hand again, 2 tier 4 panes wide window
with sash window above it.

Bell Cliff Retaining Wall and Railings and Nos 4 to 10 (consec) & 10A Broad Street
form a group.
