Pair of attached houses, C18. Timber framed, weatherboarded with some plaster,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. Aligned approx. N-S, aspect E, with 2
axial chimney stacks, one at the middle of each house. Narrower rear range with
double-pitched roof, contemporary. Single-storey rear extensions. 2 storeys.
Proctors, 4-panel door with shallow hood, projecting window to S, formerly a
shop window, supported on.3 turned Palladian balusters. To N of door, one
original window of 2 fixed lights and one wrought iron casement, with
rectangular leaded panes. First floor, 2 similar windows. Dickens Cottage, 6-
panel door, top panels glazed, shallow hood, 2 C18 windows as described on each
floor. Original wooden gutter lined with lead on NE end, a rare survival.
