Milestone. C19. Square plan with hipped top. "Parish of St. Osyth" inscribed
on roadside face. Return inscriptions worn but believed to give distances to
Colchester and Clacton. Probably one of the latest milestones beside a public
highway together with those at Alresford and Great Bentley. John Booker Essex
