3/40 Pavilion at Hall Barn
Remains of Colen Campbell's Great Room of 1724 altered after fire c.1840.
Stone. Projecting entrance with semicircular arch flanked by paired Roman Doric
½ columns. Entablature and parapet with balustrade across projecting front;
room inside has shallow domed ceiling; to each side, one double-hung sash,
glazing bars, framed by stepped stones, heavy flat stone arches, broken pedi-
ments. Inside round the base of the dome and fixed to the walls is a fine
collection of old Dutch tiles.
