GV II

House. Probably late C18, altered. Whitewashed render over flint and
brick,hipped old tile roof, brick chimneys to centre of main block and
to right. Main block is of 3 storeys and 2 bays, the right bay with
band courses and off-set eaves. 3-light wooden casements with single
horizontal glazing bars. Lower 2-storey bay of slightly earlier date
set back to right with deeper band course and cogged eaves. Paired
barred wooden casement to ground floor, 4-pane sash above, panelled
door to left in late C19 - C20 timber porch. Whitewashed brick lean-to
at right end. Interior: heavy rough joists and large open fireplace to
ground floor of right bay; arched china cupboard with shaped shelves,
carved console and rosettes in spandrels in room above. Main block has
winder stair in line with chimney, and narrowly chamfered and stopped spine
beams.
