Pair of houses. c.1600. Timber framed, plaster rendered and original steeply
pitched roof now covered with concrete tiles. C19 ridge stack of grey
brick. Four bay plan. Two storeys. Four modern casements to each storey
and two doorways. The inside of no. 26 was inspected. Stop chamfered middle
rail and intersecting ceiling beams. Inserted C19 chimney and hearth
suggesting that the building was unheated. Its use may have been for a
special purpose. The main posts have jowled heads and braced tie beams.
