ST 47 SE CLAPTON IN GORDANO C.P. CLAPTON LANE (west side)

House. Probably early C17 with later C17 addition to right, C19 and C20
alterations. Whitewashed rubble, part rendered, pantiled roof with brick gable
stacks. 2-storey north front has gable to left with central stack, gabled porch
to right with stone bench, inner door in chamfered frame, oven attached and
projecting to left; straight joint to addition to right, has 2 single lights
with timber lintels at ground floor, lean-to attached to right has door with
timber lintel; right return rendered above lean-to, small single light at first
floor to right of gable stack; left return has C20 2-light casement at ground
and first floor, early lintel remaining at ground floor. Rear has 3-light
casement with wooden ovolo mullions, iron stanchions and timber lintel at ground
floor left, small 2-light casement under eaves. Interior: not inspected.
